Normal Pension
- Eligibility: At age 65 with five (5) years of continuous participation in the Plan, (effective 7/1/97) 5 years of Vesting Service and at least 1 hour of Pension Service earned after 6/30/97, 20 years of Pension Service or 10 years of Vesting Service.
Benefit
- For hours worked prior to July 1, 2002: If you are a former IBEW Local 166/236 Pension Plan participant, when you retire, your Pension benefit will be calculated using the rules of the Local 166/236 Plan in effect on June 30, 2002 (currently $91.00 per credited year based upon1600 hours per credited year or $68.25 per credited year based upon 1200 hours for a credited year). If you are a former IBEW Local 438 Pension Plan participant, when you retire, your Pension benefit will be calculated using the rules of the Local 438 Plan in effect on June 30, 2002 (currently $127.00 per credited year based upon 1600 hours per credited year). If you are a former IBEW Local 724 Pension Plan participant, when you retiree, your benefit will be calculated using the rules of the Local 724 Pension Plan in effect on June 30, 2002 (currently, $5.69 per each 100 hours credited or $91.00 per credited year based upon 1600 hours per credited year).
- For hours worked after July 1, 2002, all Pension benefits will be calculated using the rules of the IBEW Local 236 Pension Plan (currently, $91.00 per credited year based upon 1600 hours per credited year).
Unreduced Early Pension
- Eligibility: Anytime after age 55 if you have 35 years of Vesting Service (a vesting year is a plan year in which you work at least 1000 hours). Anytime after age 62 if you are vested.
- Benefit: Same as Normal Pension.
Early Pension
- Eligibility: Anytime after age 55 if you are vested.
- Benefit: Actuarially reduced Pension.
Disability Pension
- Eligibility: If you are entitled to a Social Security Disability Pension, do not work, have 10 years of Pension Service (counting no more than one year of Pension Service in any one Plan Year), were recently active in work under the Plan at the time of your disability, and are not yet age 62.
- Benefit: Same as for Normal Pension.
Surviving Spouse Pensions
- Eligibility: Before Early, Unreduced Early, or Normal retirement if you die after you are vested.After Early, Unreduced Early, or Normal retirement, on an optional basis.
Death Benefit
- If you are a non-retired Plan Participant with at least one year of Future Pension Service, or a Pensioner whose effective date of Pension is after 9/24/85, a Lump Sum Death Benefit generally equal to the contributions made to the Plan on your work less any Pension payments made to you and your surviving spouse.
Vesting
- Once you have 5 years of Vesting Service, or have reached your Early, Unreduced Early, or Normal Pension Date, you are vested in your accrued Pension Benefit.
